Stepping into Parenthood!!!

The most amazing thing that has happened to us in 2023 is our little munchkin. We welcomed him into our world right from the day we got those two pink lines.

During this journey, we hit few roadblocks and enjoyed many amazing moments, every time learning something new. Every pregnancy is different and unique. Heard a lot and lot of advices but ended up with most of them not working out for me. No craving, worst food aversion, nausea, acid reflux and sleep deprivation became uncalled guests. Some days it use to get so tough to manage work, health and the mood swings. But having a supportive and understanding partner makes it easier to pass such hard times. Never did he complain for my unnecessary tantrums, instead he was all ears to my nonsense blabbering. His hug at the end would melt down all the anger, frustration & irritation in seconds. But every husband/partner does this or should do this as the woman alone is not pregnant. The couple is pregnant. Also, my lil brother was the second victim of my gloomy phase. These two lovely souls handled me and my emotional meltdowns patiently for whole 9 months. I can never be grateful enough to have them by my side during my best and my worst.

The day our son was born will always be special. From getting induced to feeling mild contractions, we were so hopeful that it would be normal delivery. Ultimately due to unavoidable circumstance, it ended up in emergency C-section. Everything after that happened so fast that it felt this minute we were having discussion with our doctor about the emergency and the next minute our baby was here. Inside the OT, when the doctor said "मुलगा झाला तुला" (It's a boy), I went numb. I didn't know what to say, how to react. He was crying and so was I. When they showed him to me, I wanted to hug him tight but could not. I finally took him in my arms after few hours and that was the best moment. No words can describe that moment. To put it in my husband's words - "This is our happily ever after, the journey from two to three has begun".

Every parent wants to provide the best of everything to their child. So do we! We are learning new things everyday. From changing nappies to sleepless nights, last 4 months have been overwhelming. But when our baby looks at us and smiles, all the tiredness is gone and there's only one thought - 'All that we are and will be going through is worth it for this cute innocent smile'.

Becoming a parent has been the biggest and happiest milestone of my life. And I wish to enjoy it to the fullest. We now have a lil captain on our ship to drive us crazy. We can't wait to explore this world with him.

PS :- We named him "Vyom" (व्योम) meaning sky, also named after my favorite Bappa.
